Distinctive in serving others

Bible by the Beach has finished for another year. Many have been richly blessed by the teaching, the worship, fellowship, meeting up with old friends – the simple joy of being with God’s people and realising that we are not alone, that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves, than All Saints and Eastbourne: we are part of God’s ultimate purposes to conform us to Christ, to bring us to maturity in him so we are fit for the restoration of all things in the New Creation, presented to the......

Our very own Diocesan Mother's Union President!

Below is a report from Mrs. Kathryn Anderson, All Saints church member and new Diocesan member of the mothers union. I am privileged to be the new Diocesan President in Chichester Diocese for Mothers’ Union, especially in this special 140th year and the year of our Queen’s 90th birthday. We lived in Dorking and as a young working Mum I enjoyed the occasional evening meeting when we discussed......

He is risen! Alleluia!

One of the great things about the Anglican Church is that it calls for six weeks of Easter celebrations. And why not! The resurrection of Jesus is the ground-breaking, life-changing news at the heart of the Christian message. We enjoyed a wonderful Easter weekend at All Saints celebrating and thinking more about the death and resurrection of Jesus – a passover Supper, three hours at the cross, a very moving performance of the Messiah and an uplifting Easter Sunday together. Robert has thanked everyone who gave so much of themselves in helping in the......

This year's Lent Course - a few thoughts.

This years Lent course has been a special time to focus on our relationship with God and each other. We’ve thought particularly about the holiness of the Church. There are two aspects of holiness – what we have been called away from and what we have been called to. With the help of the Puritan John Owen we have been focussing on the latter – what have we been called to as a church. His short book, Rules for Walking in Fellowship, has encouraged us to enjoy a foretaste of the glories of heaven......

LENT course 2016: Heaven's Outpost

It has been exciting to be reminded from Ephesians, in our evening services, of God’s glorious purposes for all the universe and how the church plays a key role in pointing both the heavenly and earthly realms to God’s New Creation in Christ. The problem is, as the Apostle Paul knew well, that we need to keep being reminded so that our life together reflects who we really are. This year’s lent course gives us an opportunity to search our hearts as a church to see where  our attitude and behaviour has fallen short of  his......
